Cole Cochran Studio is a landscape design studio based in Sydney. Our work is informed by the contexts, conditions, and processes that shape the places in which our projects are situated. We approach garden-making with curiosity, questioning assumptions and conventions within the landscape design industry. We see inventive reuse, play, and craft as central to our work. We are interested in promoting local ecologies and supporting endangered plant species where possible, while celebrating the aesthetics and seasonality of landscapes from around the world. By working with endemic and less commonly cultivated plants, we hope to increase awareness and appreciation for the diversity of local plant communities. Ultimately, landscapes and their plants are extraordinary, calamitous, promiscuous, beautiful, and strange. Through our work, we hope to inspire a sense of wonder about the relationships and processes between plants, non-human life, and their environments.
